Full House at MI-10

All active Spring Open anglers showed up at MI-10 at lunch today for a crack at the record fish.  Unfortunately the recent rains and overcast skies were not conducive to fishing.  Of course, Tim managed to land a couple "minnow sized" bass and Tomski reeled in a decent sized, but non counting, bluegill.

Merle Shamed Into Early Morning Angling

Merle couldn't stand the peer pressure of not landing a fish in the Spring Open, so despite the winds and cold start to the morning, left the comfort of his home to visit MI-10 before work.  His efforts paid off and he landed a 3 lb 11 oz smallmouth as well as a bigger one that got away. What a way to start the day.  A review of the leaderboard shows that only Tomski and Ron have yet to land a fish.

Do Bluegill Count?

A lot of people have been asking.  I heard Steve caught a huge bluegill.  How come there are no pictures.  Well you asked for it, here it is

Tim Time!

What a day for Tim.  First the victory in Lotto Bingo and then three monster bass at lunch. His first fish was caught on the first cast and quickly set the record for the Spring Open at 4 pounds 9 ounces.  But it wasn't over yet, he followed it up with two more bass at 3 lbs 7 oz.

Chuck, the previous record holder, managed to land a 3 lb 8 oz bass.  Bridgett is on the board with a 3 lb 6 oz smallmouth bass (the first of the season) that jumped not once, but twice before she landed that monster.  Alas, Steve only managed two huge bluegill and Tomski stayed on the skunk list

Tim Makes Hay

Tim obviously feels that he'd better catch as many fish as he can while Steve is gone since he landed another nice sized fish today at lunch. He was joined by Chuck, who still giddy with yesterday's result, managed to get skunked today.  One can only ask "Where have all the other anglers gone?"

New Record!

Despite a strict "no-fishing-when-Steve-is-gone" rule, two anglers visited Main Injector today at lunch and were rewarded with a record setting fish.  Chuck finally got that new rod/reel combo working and managed a whopping 4 lb 2 oz bass.  Luckily Tim was there to take the picture while landing a 1 lb 0 oz (tee hee) bass himself.  Congats Chuck.

Tim is on the Board

Tim was the lone angler who ventured out today at lunch, but he was rewarded with two fish.   Of course there were two that were so big they couldn't be landed, but that's a fish story for another day

Beautiful Weather + Five Anglers = 1 Fish

The combination of sunny weather, warm temperatures and a Friday lured five anglers to the waters of Main Injector.  First timers Merle and Chuck joined Tomski (Mr. Lackowski), Tim and Steve for some fishing action.  Unfortunately the fish weren't as excited as only Steve managed to land two fish (one slab sized bluegill and one largemouth bass).

Warning - Mean Blog Alert

Dear readers - As you know in 2007 our publication was attacked by a very angry angler.  You may recall that blog (click here).  Well it appears this mean spirited individual is at it again (click here)

Rest assured gentle readers that the Tournament Office is doing everything within it's power to track down and stop this so called "blogger".

What a Start - New Record

The weather warmed and four anglers hit MI-10 toady at lunch.  Bridgett, Tomski, Tim and Steve were out in the sun and enjoying the day.

While that day was wonderful, it was especially good for Steve who recovered from Tuesday's lack of scale to land two bass over 3 pounds, including a tournament record setting 3 lb 14 oz bass.  For those keeping tracking, that's one ounce larger than Tomski's Fall Open record.  Here's the pictures.

First Fish of The Spring Open

Steve landed the first fish of the Spring Open at the west end of MI-60.  The cold weather (40 degrees) and wind kept the less serious anglers in the confines of Wilson Hall.  Tim was the only other angler to "man up" and take to the waters.

Here's some pictures of the season opening fish.

First Day

Despite chilly temperatures, four anglers (Tim, Tom, Bridgett and Steve) fished both MI-60 and MI-40 at lunch on Thursday.  Sadly, no fish were landed, but the prestigious "first fish" bragging rights are still ripe for the picking.

Weather Delays Anglers

The snowy April weather seems to have delayed the anglers from wetting their lines for the Spring Open.  While we are waiting for the weather to shift, take this time to vote on the scarier things in the poll at right.

Why oh why do people put children on farm animals.  It borders on abuse.  First a boy on ram, now a girl on goat.
